About us

Ecogerm farmers is a community-based organization working with local farming groups within the North-west and South-West regions of Cameroon. By sharing ideas and knowledge, we strive to improve agricultural production, employing high-quality indigenous seeds and planting materials. We work hand-in-hand with these communities to analyze and interpret useful information on the interaction of various species in their respective agro-ecology to improve yields and consequently livelihoods.

OUR GOALS
Our mission is to Improve livelihoods by sharing knowledge and good works
Our main goal this year has been the conservation of plant genetic diversity

We have been carrying out the following activities to that end.

The active management of landrace diversity within traditional agricultural systems where they have developed their unique characteristics

Landrace Safety duplication

The duplication of a genetically identical sub-samples of an accession to mitigate the risk of its partial or total loss caused by natural or man-made catastrophes

Landrace Conservation

The maintenance of crop evolution in fields, farms and landscapes and aims at retaining potentially useful but undetermined genetic variation.
